So I’m trying to be the good blogger and review the books I read from now on.
The book I just finished Broken by Megan Hart is not the one by her that I had originally wanted to read. The one I had wanted was Deeper I liked the cover and the synopsis that I read. Unfortunately my library does not carry it. The only one by her they carried was Broken. Since I wanted to try a new author and go for a light quick read it seemed like a good choice.
Well I don’t know what Deeper is like but Broken was a quick read just what I needed. Yes it’s erotica so no prudes should not read it but for any adult with an open mind it’s mild to say the least. What I liked was the character development.
The story is about a man and woman who meet once a month, he tells her about his sexcapades while she imagines herself in the stories he tells her. Meh my description is not nearly as good as the one on the book. Which is
My name is different every month—Brandy, Honey, Amy…sometimes Joe doesn’t even bother to ask—but he never fails to arouse me with his body, his mouth, his touch, no matter what I’m called or where he picks me up. The sex is always amazing, always leaves me itching for more in those long weeks until I see him again.
My real name is Sadie, and once a month over lunch Joe tells me about his latest conquest. But what Joe doesn’t know is that, in my mind, I’m the star of every X-rated one-night stand he has revealed to me, or that I’m practically obsessed with our imaginary sex life. I know it’s wrong. I know my husband wouldn’t understand. But I can’t stop. Not yet.
No it’s not going to be on the books to read before you die list but I look at it this way : the movie reviewers bash movies that viewers go to see. Why because they want it all to be intellectual they forget that sometimes you want to just go sometimes to escape to have fun. I look at this book the same way it’s a good read when you want an escape. This book was enjoyable and Megan Hart does know how to write a good story. The ending was predictable but I do hope to read Deeper one day.
