I’m still reading The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest by Stieg Larsson if you can believe it. Not because it’s bad or I can’t get into it. I can now in particular, it’s great but I’m at the stage also that I just wish the mystery would end. The good guys win and say suck it to the bad guys the bad guys get butt fucked and everyone is happy. I’m so busy lately as well that it’s hard to fit reading in. Ugh sucks hairy butts.
Larssons trilogy is a work of genius, he wrote something brilliant but the one issue with this book and the other two in the trilogy is detail. He provides too much of it. Some authors keep you in the dark leaving you to figure it all out and create the image in your mind Larssson does it for you. Too well. Do I need to know every last bit of detail on Swedish political history it would interest me if not for the excessive amounts of information.
Do I need to know exactly what someone had for lunch that it was on wheat bread not rye and the like. The brand car someone drives how much it cost them etc. etc. etc.
The Millennium trilogy is wonderful and should in my opinion be read by all however what it needs is a good editing. In every other way it is brilliant, perfect characters, good guys, bad guys, setting, story all wonderful just too much information.
As soon as I am done with the book I plan on going crazy on the movies. The Swedish version of course, I hate that Hollywood feels the need to remake it I mean really back it promote it, put the chick from the film on Letterman and Leno tell everyone it’s great and they will all see it but this need to take something and redo it to Hollywood’s satisfaction aka fuck it up grates on my nerves.
Having said that the movie poster released looks freaking awesome. Damn Hollywood.

“I think I’ve got a lead on a story. A really good story. About toilets. I want to check out a few things, but if this pans out we’ll have a fantastic article for the June issue.”
“Toilets.” Nilsson muttered.

Giannini was both tired and irritated on Wednesday evening as she boarded the X2000 at Göteborg Central Station. She felt as if she had been living on the X2000 for a month. She brought a coffee in the restaurant car, went to her seat, and opened the folder of notes from her last conversation with Salander. Who was the reason why she was feeling tired and irritated.
