I was asked to review a very short kids book about 25 pages only. It’s subject matter is quite huge however.
When I was a kid my last name well let’s just say it opened me up to a lot of hassle from kids who found it amusing to mock me because of it. I remember another time I had this lovely hair tie thing. It clipped above a pony tail then you put the pony tail into this lace pouch thing I thought it looked nice. I was like 11 so looking nice and not fat or gross from zits was the priority a boy on the bus however every time I wore my hair that way would tell me I had a doggy bag on my head.
Bullying isn’t anything new it’s been around since people have existed why because some people find it amusing to be mean. These people who need better things in their lives are sadly in abundance.
Those parents who try to offer comfort to their child going through these issues including a parent with a bully for a child who I would hope be trying to teach that child to not be the mean monster terrorizing others should check out Short or Tall Doesn’t Matter At All.
This book about Elizabeth a little girl who is the shortest child in her class bullied by the tallest girl in her class is a great read for parents to share with kids. This is particularly good for young children those starting to read on their own or who still like when the parents read the book to them.
