Mailbox Monday is a weekly event started by Marcia, and is now hosted on a blog rotation. 5 Minutes For Books is the host for the month of August.
This week was fantastic so I had to post. Last week was good too but all ebooks and I had a couple posts scheduled then so I skipped but this week was a must share. Some of the ebooks are from last week.
Miss Peregrines’s Home For Peculiar Children won from Donna at Bites. I’ve been wanting this one so super excited. Thanks Donna
Signed copy of Shadow Sight from the twitter party held by author E.J Stevens for her new books on release day. Thanks to EJ I also won it in ebook format from Cat’s Thoughts
Devil’s Wake from author Steven Barnes and Tananarve Due sent for review which I had agreed to review way back at the start of the year.
Blackbirds I wanted to read sooooo damn bad just because of the cover. Angry Robot kindly added me to their reviewer list but I wanted it so bad I just ended up buying it. The sequel Mockingbirds by Chuck Wendig was sent by the publisher for review and made me fangirl squeal in excitement, In particular as I was not expecting it.

Looks like you’re one of the cool kids–got the same books a lot of them are getting. I’ve heard a lot about Mrs. Peregrine’s, Gone, and Mockingbird. I’ve already read Something Red, but I have to withhold my official opinion until the publishing date. Just between me, you, and the fencepost, though, I didn’t think it was that good.

That’s a shame about Something Red you should for sure read something by Chuck Wendig. Become addicted like me.

I’ve been tempted by Blackbirds myself – it does look good! I enjoyed Miss Peregrine’s Home and the weird photos really add to the atmosphere, I think you’ll like it.

You had a great week. One of these days I’ll get a copy of Miss Peregrine. It’s been on my to-read list for ages.
