Angelkiller by H. David Blalockis free on amazon today and tomorrow. Be sure to get your copy of this great book. I sure liked it.

Now my teaser from My Life As A White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland

My stress levels were so high that when my cell phone rang I let out a shriek and damned near threw the bag containing the tub of brains into the air. Yeah, that would have been an impressive mess.

Angel Crawford is a loser

Living with her alcoholic deadbeat dad in the swamps of southern Louisiana, she’s a high school dropout with a pill habit and a criminal record who’s been fired from more crap jobs than she can count. Now on probation for a felony, it seems that Angel will never pull herself out of the downward spiral her life has taken.

That is, until the day she wakes up in the ER after overdosing on painkillers. Angel remembers being in an horrible car crash, but she doesn’t have a mark on her. To add to the weirdness, she receives an anonymous letter telling her there’s a job waiting for her at the parish morgue—and that it’s an offer she doesn’t dare refuse.

Before she knows it she’s dealing with a huge crush on a certain hunky deputy and a brand new addiction: an overpowering craving for brains. Plus, her morgue is filling up with the victims of a serial killer who decapitates his prey—just when she’s hungriest!

Angel’s going to have to grow up fast if she wants to keep this job and stay in one piece. Because if she doesn’t, she’s dead meat.

Literally.

Sunday Shorts

Sunday Shorts is a new meme started by the CabinGoddess.com. The rules are easy, a short story, an anthology of short stories, a novella, or a quick weekend read that is also short on your wallet!

A happy mothers day to you all. Hope you have something interesting planned for the day.

My book selection for today is The Insomniacs by Caleb Casey. The author started following me on twitter and while checking out who my new stalker was I noticed that his book at the time anyway was free so I grabbed a copy. I haven’t read it and have no idea what it’s like but it will be my next short read. At only 17 pages that shouldn’t take too long so I’m curious what he did in that short a span. I’ve read some good short ones so I hope it’s like the others. It’s free for kindle prime right now and only 99c for others.

Here is the equally short blurb

A girl, found bleeding and freezing in a snow bank. A guy who can’t sleep. No one else around… except for the things wearing masks.

Today’s book is one that I purchased for 99c just the other day. It’s fitting that the Cabin Goddess started this meme as she too is the one who introduced me to the author of the short story collection.

Unknown Pleasures is by Charles Colyott. His work I’ve heard great things about and being the cover whore that I am when I saw Unknown Pleasures I said it must be mine. It is now and for just 99c it should be yours as well.

Before I get to my teaser I want to share about an event that I really hope you will all join in on. My friends at Seventh Star Press will be giving away, yes giving away for kindle anyway Michael West’s new book Poseidon’s Children on Amazon tomorrow. All day Wednesday and Thursday you’ll be able to get a copy for yourself so please help out my friends and a great indie publisher by getting a copy. The more people the better so please let everyone know about it so we can get them ranked higher and noticed.

My teaser is from Siege by Rhiannon Frater I will be taking part in the Siege tour later on in the month, my stop will have an interview and I want to make sure I have a review up by then as well. I’ve read and loved the previous two in this series so I know I will love this one as well. Siege is the final book in the series, the first starts out in the initial days on the zombie apocalypse. The second on how the characters were trying to get on their feet and establish as much of a life as they could and Siege the final book in the series. As I’m just getting started I’ll go with the opening lines of the book for us all to enjoy and remember there will be a copy of Siege given away when my stop on the tour comes along so be sure to come back then for a chance to get this book yourself.

The tiny fingers under the door were missing. Jenni stared down at the dark crack under the front door, waiting for her toddler’s tiny pink digits to appear.

I’m still reading Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick. The book is good but I’m so busy and behind and reading super slow lately with a ton on my mind. I sure hope I’ll ramp up the reading and not still be reading Ashes next week. It’s good though so if it isn’t on your TBR list then you should add it.

“It means,” Tom Eden said, “that I’m the guy they send out to make sure the bombs don’t go off.”
“Well then, you did a really sucky job, Tom,” said Ellie, and burst into tears.
